Where Did Balinese Cats Come From?
There is no definitive answer as to where the breed originated from since their exact origins remain a mystery. What we do know however is that at some point in time a Siamese cat was bred with a long-haired breed.
It’s not known which long haired breed, but it has been speculated that the new breed may have been from an Abyssinian cat or a Turkish Angora.
Whatever the case maybe there is no doubt that the Balinese cats of today look very much like their ancestor the Siamese.
Balinese cats are known for their dark points which include ears, nose, tail, and paws. The coat is also longer than that of a Siamese cat. Their coats are silky soft to the touch with no undercoat which makes them hypoallergenic.
There are no exact records as to when the first Balinese cats were born however experts believe it may have been as early as the 1940s.

Balinese cats are very intelligent and will follow their owners around. If they want attention, don’t expect your Balinese kitty to come to find you – if possible, go keep them company! Balinese cats are very curious and they enjoy playing with toys. These kitties love to sleep in bed with their human families and will purr you into a good morning every day if you let them!
Where Are They Popular?
Balinese cats have been recognized as a breed since the 1960s by official cat associations such as the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) and the American Cat Fanciers Association (ACFA).
Today they are one of the most popular breeds in the world! Balinese cats are so affectionate, playful, and intelligent that they can easily become a part of any family. They are also great with kids making them even more attractive to potential owners.
